casa de luz

Casa de Luz sleeps four spaciously and comfortably in two good-sized bedrooms, one king-size double and one twin, with a particularly high standard of furnishing. It is approached through a solid wooden door in a high wall that gives privacy to the patio, then up a few steps to the patio itself, where in the evenings you can sit and watch the lights of Comares on its hill across the valley. A barbecue, teak table and parasol, and seats for six are provided.

The house itself is entered through a low porch and old rustic double doors that open straight into the large salon (18ft x 10ft) with its high-beamed ceiling and fireplace across one end. The salon is furnished with two large armchairs, a sofa, and a chaise longue. For winter there is a wood-burning stove set into the large, traditional andaluz fireplace that dominates the end wall, and for summer, a fan. There is a television (free to air only), a DVD player, a small collection of books about Spain and some fiction. A glazed door leads to a small shaded balcony with a small table and two chairs, giving stunning views south to Comares.
On the far side of the salon, two pairs of double doors give access to the kitchen and dining room respectively (each approx. 10ft x 10ft). They are separated only by a work surface / bar so that they form in effect one large airy room, which, in the dining area, retains the original beam and cana ceiling. The kitchen has a four burner butane gas stove and oven, a large fridge freezer, tiled work surfaces and open shelves in rustic Spanish style. It is fully equipped with pans, casserole dishes, cooking utensils and cutlery. The dining room has a glass-fronted dresser with ample glasses and crockery for six, an ornate sideboard and a table and chairs for six.
